The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine continues to expand Defence City, with the number of residents of the special legal regime increasing to 51 Ukrainian manufacturers of weapons and military equipment.
Several more companies have joined Defence City in recent weeks.
At the end of July, 45 Ukrainian defence companies held Defence City resident status.
Defence City Strengthens the Capabilities of Ukraine’s Defence Industry
Defence City resident status provides companies with a comprehensive set of state support instruments. These include tax and customs incentives, support for the relocation and protection of production facilities, enhanced protection of sensitive information, as well as simplified procedures for certain exports.
“Defence City is becoming one of the systemic tools for developing Ukraine’s defence industry. The growing number of residents means that more and more manufacturers are gaining the conditions they need to scale up production, attract investment and protect their production facilities,” stated Anna Gvozdiar, Adviser to the Minister of Defence of Ukraine.
The growing number of Defence City residents demonstrates the gradual expansion of the special legal regime and its increasing coverage of Ukraine’s defence-industrial complex.
Ministry of Defence of Ukraine Supports the Development of Defence City
Defence City was established with the participation of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine as a special legal regime designed to support and scale up Ukrainian defence production.
The Ministry of Defence previously provided detailed guidance on how defence manufacturers can obtain Defence City resident status and what benefits it provides.
