New opportunities to find skilled candidates: Ukraine launches national platform for specialists aged 50+

June 10, 2026, 17:15

Labour shortages remain a deep-seated challenge for Ukrainian businesses — and defence companies are no exception. The national platform Experience Matters helps employers recruit seasoned professionals aged 50 and above, free of charge. All candidates undergo training in modern digital tools and artificial intelligence before joining the pool.

Modern Knowledge + Solid Experience

The project was created to connect the potential of candidates aged 50+ with the needs of today’s labour market. Before being matched with employers, participants refresh their job-seeking skills and upgrade their competencies. For businesses, the platform is a fast way to fill vacancies where life experience, reliability and deep professional knowledge are critical.

How Companies Can Join

Unlike traditional recruitment, the process here is streamlined into a few simple steps:

1. Registration: Employers complete a short online form.

2. Posting an offer: Instead of a standard vacancy, the company publishes an announcement for a short practical internship. It specifies the task, assigns a mentor, sets a schedule, selects required skills from a list, and defines payment terms.

3. Automatic matching: The digital system analyses the database and suggests candidates who best fit the criteria.

4. Internship and feedback: After a brief interview, the candidate begins practical work. On the 10th working day, an employment service specialist contacts the company to gather interim results.

A key nuance: completing the internship does not oblige the company to sign a formal employment contract. The placement acts as a test-drive, allowing both sides to decide whether they are comfortable working together.
