The ZBROYA team held an offline training session for representatives of defense industry enterprises dedicated to the employment of veterans and their effective integration into teams. More than 60 representatives of defense industry companies took part in the event.
The training modules were delivered by Maryna Sokolova, a leading Ukrainian expert and consultant on veteran policy and veteran reintegration, Head of Financial Inclusion Development at the National Bank of Ukraine, as well as by experts from the Vesta veteran association, Kateryna Eykhmann and Ivanna Kovalchuk.
Participants received practical recommendations on working with veterans, including preparing teams, building HR processes, adaptation, psychological support, and ethical communication. They also discussed how to leverage veterans’ experience to strengthen teams and the production capabilities of enterprises.
“Ukraine’s defense industry is growing rapidly today and needs people with strong motivation, responsibility, and an understanding of the real needs of the frontline. Veterans have unique experience that can strengthen defense industry enterprises – from developing new solutions to improving production processes. Our task is to help companies create conditions in which this experience is properly integrated and becomes part of the development of the defense sector,” said Anna Hvozdiar, Advisor to the Minister of Defense of Ukraine.
During the event, participants also discussed the practical challenges veterans may face after completing military service, as well as the role of employers in creating dignified opportunities for their professional realization.
“Veterans should feel not formal attention, but sincere gratitude and a humane attitude. They need clear rules, respect for their experience, and the opportunity to be useful where their knowledge truly matters. For defense companies, this is an opportunity to involve people who understand very well for whom and for what Ukrainian weapons are produced,” emphasized Dmytro Kozatskyi, Head of the Veteran Engagement in the Defense Industry Department.
Veterans’ experience is an important reinforcement for Ukrainian arms manufacturers. By engaging veterans, defense industry enterprises create opportunities for professional realization and strengthen their teams with people who deeply understand the needs of the frontline.
Strengthen your team together with veterans.
