Brave1 Grant Program

Support for defense tech developers creating innovative solutions for the front line. The program currently includes 70 detailed technological priorities that address the real needs of the battlefield — from UAVs and EW systems to missiles and AI-based solutions.

Grant amounts:

  • up to UAH 500,000 — for idea testing and necessary research;
  • up to UAH 2,000,000 — for developing a laboratory prototype;
  • up to UAH 4,000,000 — for building a prototype and conducting field tests;
  • up to UAH 8,000,000 — for producing finished products and carrying out combat testing, followed by transfer to the Security and Defense Forces.

Within the Brave1 cluster, the following initiatives are also active:

  • Special grant program — up to UAH 8,000,000 for advancing breakthrough ideas in narrow priority areas (currently AI and missile technologies);
  • Grant competitions — opportunities to attract UAH 100 million or more for developing or scaling technologies tailored to specific technical requirements and ready-to-deploy front-line solutions.

The final decision on funding is made by the Supervisory Board of the Innovation Development Fund. The grant amount depends on the development's readiness level.

The program is implemented jointly by the Ministry of Digital Transformation, the Ministry of Defense, and the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Register

Any Ukrainian developers or innovators in the defense tech sector can apply to join the Brave1 cluster. Applications are reviewed by a panel of defense experts from across the participating government departments, and received at least 4 points as a general rating and a current readiness rating.
